It comprises of Alaknanda and Mandakini river valleys or 'Lord of Peaks' as they are referred to. Tungnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva situated here is one of the highest temples in the world and also highest among the five Panch Kedar temples located in the Tungnath mountain range. With an air of mystery and beauty, this Tungnath also offers various other attractions and trek trails.

The Omkareshwar Temple is Located in the lower side of Ukhimath town is historically and religiously significant and at a distance of 41 KM from Rudraprayag-elevation being 1310 metres, in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Omkareshwar Temple is a wonderful temple which is about 5000 years old and the only attraction in Ukhimath, It is a winter abode of Lord Kedarnath. Situated almost 2 km away from the Ukhimath Taxistand. Omkareshwar Temple popularly known as Omkareshwar Peeth is one of the oldest Peeth in India and houses the dieties of Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar during the winter season months (November to April).

The Badrinath Temple also known as the Badrinarayan Temple, located in Uttarakhand's Badrinath town, is one of the four Char Dhams (four important pilgrimages) in the state. There are four pilgrim-destinations namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, collectively known as Char Dham. These pilgrimage centres draw large number of pilgrims each year, thus becoming the most important hubs of religious travel in the whole of Northern India. Badrinath is located at an elevation of around 3,100 m. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the Alaknanda river, this sacred town lies between Nar and Narayana mountain ranges.

Chadrashila - 32 Km (2 Kms Trekking from Tungnath Temple )

Chandrashila is the summit above Tungnath temple. It literally means "Moon Rock". It is located at a height of about 3,690 metres above sea level. This peak provides views of the Himalayas, including Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks. There are various legends associated with this place.

Chandrashila treks are one of the most popular treks among Indian trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the peak is 5 km. The trek route that starts from Chopta takes one to Tungnath (highest Shiva temple in the World), from here it is a kilometer long, and a steep trek. Though shorter in distance, steep climbing makes this trek rigorous.

Chopta is a picturesque hamlet which is still unexplored by travelers, is also famous as "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand". Wake up with cool salubrious breeze and chirping of birds in Chopta which is a far cry from the blaring horns of the cities and other hill stations, morning view from Chopta is invigorating when the crimson rays of sun kisses the snow-laden Himalayas.

This hushed abode is enclosed by the dwindling pines, deodars, rhododendrons and other conifers that can be found in this region, which makes Chopta rich in flora and fauna.

Madhyamaheshwar Temple - 25 Km by Road & 20 Km Trekking

Madhyamaheshwar (Madmaheshwar) is a Lord Shiva temple, is part of famous Panch Kedar. The temple is located at an altitude of 3497 mts and is the fourth temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar Pilgrimage circuit. The other temples in the circuit include: Kedarnath, Tungnath and Rudranath to be visited before Madmaheshwar and Kalpeshwar to be visited after Madmaheshwar. Madhya Maheshwar temple is located in the Mansuna village of Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. The middle (madhya) or belly part or navel (nabhi) of the bull, considered a divine form of Shiva, is worshipped at this temple, believed to be built by the Pandavas, the heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.

Devariyatal is an emerald lake perched at a height of 2438 mts above sea level. During the early morning on a clear day, Devariya Tal blesses the tourists with miraculous reflections of Chaukhamba peaks on its crystal clear water.

Deoriatal is an easy and weekend trek for beginners. One can also extend their trek to Bisuri Tal, Chopta via Rohini Bugyal and even to Tungnath and Chandrasila.

Kalimath Temple – 20KM

Engirdled by Kedarnath mountains, Kalimath Temple lies near the banks of River Saraswati, some 13 km north of Guptkashi, in Rudraprayag district. Devoted to Goddess Kali, the temple is perched at a height of around 1463 m above the sea level and is counted amongst the top religious tourism places in Rudraprayag. As per the Srimad Devi Bhagwat Mahapuran, Kalimath Temple is reckoned to be one of the 108 Shakti Peethas. Not just this, this ancient temple in Uttarakhand also has its mentioned in chapter 62 of Skanda Purana. An interesting fact about Kalimath Temple is that only the lower portion of Goddess Kali is worshipped here, while, the upper half is worshipped at Dhara Devi Temple located between Rudraprayag and Srinagar.

Triyuginarayan is a well known Hindu pilgrimage located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This picturesque village is perched at an elevation of 1,980 and offers panoramic views of snow covered mountains of the beauteous Garhwal region. The centre of attraction of this place is the TriyugiNarayan also known as the Trijugi Narayan temple dedicated to the preserver, Lord Vishnu. The architecture of this temple resembles to that of Badrinath shrine.
